Managing our lives, taking care of ourselves and the people around us, eating well, creating, focusing, executing, running a business, doing our work, making good decisions, etc. all become more difficult to manage when we're feeling mentally and physically tired.
It doesn't matter if you meditate for 1 minute a day or 60 minutes, when you sit down for your daily practice, you have to go in with the intention that right now, with this breath, with this mantra, with this meditation, "I'm going to change now, I'm going to let this go, I'm going to heal this, I'm going to see this differently."
Life is tricky. We will never stop facing challenges in our lives, relationships, businesses, health, etc. Having a daily practice of some sort in order to build inner strength and trust is the only way we can successfully move through the tough times.
Our ghosts, haunting thoughts, anxieties, beliefs of inadequacy and unworthiness, doubts of the future…for the most part all of this is self-imposed; these are the realities we create in our lives. So if we have the power to create this reality with our negative thoughts, then we have the power to create an entirely different reality centered around more confident and secure thoughts and beliefs!
We all have times when we feel a little lethargic, can't focus our minds, or can barely keep our eyes open. So what can we do to snap out of it or at least give ourselves a healthy burst of energy (in the event a 15 minute disco nap is not possible) for long enough to accomplish something, be productive, and feel better?
It takes a lot of faith to allow things to unfold naturally and it's not always easy. I mean, we want what we want when we want it, and our brains have habitual thought patterns of their own (this is why we meditate, so we can reprogram the patterns), but it is essential to our well being that we train ourselves to live with a deep knowing that everything will work out for our highest good, even when it doesn’t look the way we thought it would.
The end goal is to feel better. Think about how much time and energy we waste all caught up in negative feelings. If we could feel what we need, but move out of it sooner, then we have more time to enjoy life and the people we love, and we have more energy to show up, create and serve the world around us.
It's too easy to caught up in day to day monotony and responsibilities that we forget to set aside time for ourselves. Life isn't intended to be about going through the motions or crossing things off a to-do list...
